Interwebs

You can find me on TwitterLinkedIn, and Google Scholar.

Places

I’m affiliated with ASU School of Earth & Space Exploration. I also work with many great folks from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Spacecraft and Instruments

I’m currently a staff member on the Mastcam-Z downlink operations team for the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover. I’ve worked extensively with data from Mars-orbiting instruments, primarily CRISM and THEMIS. I also worked on the Mars Exploration Rovers mission from 2014 to 2018, when we lost contact with the Opportunity rover, and on the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover from 2017-2021.

Outreach

I’m happy to be contacted about outreach opportunities in schools or community groups, in Arizona or beyond. I’ve given many building tours and informal talks about Mars as well as longer formal lectures. I’m also interested in collaborations to bring planetary science into the classroom through augmented reality.

I also do classroom “visits” with Skype-a-Scientist. It’s a great way for teachers to connect with STEM professionals of any kind. You can request to work with me (or my awesome space science colleagues!).

I’ve been fortunate to be matched as a pen pal in the Letters to a Pre-Scientist program for several years. I definitely recommend it to teachers and STEM professionals.

Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@asu.edu.
